Bread Box Clutter Keeper

Weeks ago I found this old $2 bread box at Goodwill.   I am always in search of ways to hide clutter.  And this could hide a lot!  (Warning - put on your shades for the next photo!)
So....I grabbed one of my favorite spray paints, Rustoleum 2x in Berry Pink.  I found a pink and green small ceramic pull at Hobby Lobby (Their knobs are all 50% off this week - this cutie was $1.00!)  And yea, it looks really bright here but this is actually a wonderful color.  So cheerful
I have not done anything to the interior, yet.   And I'm thinking of stressing or glazing at some point but, for now, this sits in my kitchen hiding most of the things we use daily.  And...I actually found another box just like this!  I'm trying to decide what color to use on the second one.  It will be storing some of my art supplies and I plan on giving it a very different look than it's "sister"!
Thanks for stopping by!

By the way, this has to be one of my shortest posts ever.   I'm working on keeping it light :)

  3. I used to put "stuff" in my breadbox, and bread in a drawer. It made sense to me.

  5. I LOVE the color! What a creative idea. I really don't like having things out and this is a very clever way to make things look neat quickly. The knob accents it beautifully as well.

  11. Growing up we had a bread box just like that, however living in the south, bread molded in there fast! I love what you did to it to make it a Clutter Keeper, I could use that now as a hiding place until I have a chance to go through all those little things that accumulate!

  13. I'm laughing because growing up, my father would always say "is it bigger than a breadbox?" when he wasn't sure how big the item was he was looking for! I haven't ever heard anyone else use that phrase, and in fact, haven't heard anyone even say the word breadbox in years, so I'm afraid I'd always have to explain myself if I used it!

With this, your motto could be, if it's bigger than a breadbox then it needs to go where it really belongs! great idea!

  14. What a great storage idea! We have such a hard time with this at our house {I'm pretty sure that is standard for all families}. I've seen these bread boxes at Goodwill several times; I will have to give this a shot!

  15. What a fun update! I love to containerize my stuff as well. I just finished a couple of wooden boxes which would be great for keeping life's everyday stuff out of sight.

  21. That's a great find for 2 bucks at Goodwill. I like the color, anything called berry has got to be good. What daily things do you hide in there? If it was left open my little pawfect cat would be hiding inside. Thanks for sharing over at Sunday's Best.
