So Happy with My Big Blue Shabby Candlestick!

I had so much FUN this weekend multitasking with projects! This candlestick was one of them.  It was one of those unusual projects that actually turned out better than I had hoped.  Score!
My previous post of my little Birdie planter was another and I hope to show you my Mango Toolbox next!  (I'm Girling up my toolbox people!)  Plus, I'm ashamed to say,  there are a few more almost finished projects just waiting in the wings.  :)   I know you understand!
First,  I found this tall sort of gangly candlestick holder for $2.00 at Goodwill!  Good lines and bones here  I am not disappointed!  You will see in later pictures that the proportions are off in this picture.  I was in a silly rush on the before photo and didn't get the proportions captured right  (Meaning, the base is not smaller than the top. Still learning Haha!)  And let me explain that I use and reuse an old shower curtain for spraying.  That's why there are often different colors in my pictures.  (Like the pink from my yet another unwritten post)
I wanted to try the new Krylon Dual spray but not all the colors are available here just yet.  So I went with the Ivory Dual first.  Worked like a charm but I was feeling a little more color here.  So I sprayed it with some Krylom Ocean Breeze I had in my ever growing collection of spray paint.
Didn't have to do anything else because it sort of distressed itself.  Just wrapped some twine around the top and added a Starfish.  How easy is that?  And I love the shabby beachy look.  Love it even without a candle!  Haha - I will get one for it soon!
To think that I originally bought this for my oldest son, Jace, and his new house.  Sorry buddy  - I'm keeping it.

  29. Mimi, your candlestick is beautiful! It reminds me of something I'd find in one of my favorite coastal living inspired boutiques downtown. Love it!

Thank you for being a part of "A Little Birdie Told Me..." and an extra big thank you for being not only a creative contributor, but for also taking the time to make the party a success by visiting others. I happened to glance over a comment that you left for one of the party-goers this week, and it really warmed my heart to know that people are connecting and supporting each other. You're the best!
